I thought it would be nice to start up a film thread. This is because I watch films a lot and am waiting for my pizza to be cooked before I start watching another. Also, I am procrastinating because I am supposed to be packing up my room for a move tomorrow. Furthermore, Anthony just tweeted about hating Drag Me To Hell and I have to strongly disagree as I thought it was hilarious and great.
I am about to watch 28 Weeks Later, which I have been meaning to watch for ages but never have.
P.S.I just got an account on DVD Aficionado (pixieshanks). Do any of you have an account on there?

28 Weeks Later is a very different film to 28 Days Later.
The scenes are all completely different, including the pictures AND the sounds!

Drag Me To Hell was just so bad, bad, bad. A horror film shouldn't make you laugh, not that it made me laugh. It was just loud noises and stupid disgusting things.
Some films I've seen recently:
Coraline in 3D. What a film! It's like Spirited Away for the 2009 generation. It's my official must see movie of the year so far.
Looking For Eric. Surprisingly good. Nobody could have expected it.
Terminator Salvation. Instantly forgettable.
The Hangover. I laughed too much. A lot of funny things, but I may have just been caught up in the carnival atmosphere.
Star Trek. The former must see film of the year until I saw Coraline.

Beg to differ and reference Evil Dead and Scream.
I want to see 1 and 3. Not so bothered about the others. The Star Trek one freaks me out because it doesn't look right; I'm suspicious!
28 Weeks Later was good! Lacked Cillian Murphy though. I love Cillian Murphy.

I watched King of Kong for the first time about three weeks ago, and have watched it twice more since - it's so good! Steve Wiebe is my new favourite person in the world ever. Watched Spinal Tap again yesterday too - great hangover viewing.

I also love Cillian Murphy. Recently I have watched 2 Days in Paris which I enjoyed very much. People keep saying how funny Drag Me to Hell is, and then other people keep saying how it has scary bits - what's the deal?
The best film I've seen this year was Let the Right One In, a Swedish movie with a vampire in it. It was frickin' amazing seriously guys. Like buying-it-on-DVD-when-it-comes-out amazing and I haven't bought a DVD for over a year. Beautiful and haunting and disturbing and lovely and bleak.
What's DVD Aficionado?

I saw Watchmen the other day, that was good. Star Trek was much better than expected too.
I want to see the In The Loop film now.

Watchmen has been my film of the year so far, by a wide margin.
And this is coming from a Star Trek fan who was made uneasy by the recent film, for a variety of reasons that nobody will be interested in, (fr'instance, Uhura, who in the original, had been an extremely positive portrayal of a woman, and an African, but who in the latest film was just a walking minge - and the fact that the nacelles weren't high enough on the redesigned Enterprise, no way would those suckers form a stable warp field!)

Watchmen was a bloody shambles. Zach Snyder is an idiot who thinks he's a proper director.
I haven't seen the Star Trek film. I got confused and decided I needed to become a proper Star Trek fan first, so I got the original first series on Blu-Ray. I watched four episodes before getting distracted. All of them were brilliant though.
